FAQ

Straight answers.

How does the bot actually join my meetings?
You connect your Google Calendar. When a meeting is on your schedule and has a video link (Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams), a headless bot joins under a display name you choose. You (or the meeting host) admit it like any other participant.
Is my meeting data private?
Yes. Every user's data is isolated at the database level — nobody at Yōten can browse your transcripts, and no other user can either. Recordings are stored in Cloudflare R2 with per-user access. On the Pro plan, retention is 12 months; you can request deletion at any time.
Which languages do you support?
English and Turkish are first-class — including code-switching mid-sentence, which is a real problem most tools butcher. Other languages work but haven't been tuned to the same level.
Do I need to install anything?
No browser extension, no desktop app, nothing to download. Just connect Google Calendar and go. There's an optional MCP integration if you want Claude Desktop to query your meetings — that takes 60 seconds.
Can I export my transcripts and action items?
Yes. Every transcript is available as text or JSON. Action items can auto-sync to Notion or TaskMaster on paid tiers. We're allergic to lock-in.
What happens if I go over my included hours?
Starter is $2/hour overage, Pro is $2.50/hour. Free is hard-blocked — the trial exists to see if Yōten fits, not to sponsor unlimited use. You'll get a notification before you hit the cap.
Why is Free so limited?
Because meeting AI genuinely costs money — Recall.ai, Soniox (transcription), and Anthropic (LLM) all bill us by the meeting-hour. A 60-minute meeting costs us $1–3 to process. A generous free tier would burn our runway before real customers could pay for the service. 7 days + 3 hours is enough to know if Yōten is your thing.
Do you have a self-hosted / on-prem option?
Not today. There's a personal version of the underlying tech (meetingmind-personal) that runs on your own machine — same models, same pipeline, but no signup, no team features, no support. Reach out if you're an enterprise with a specific need.
Can I add my whole team?
Team features (shared meetings, role-based access, org analytics) are on the roadmap but not in the launch plan. Pro works well for teams up to 5 people sharing an account for now — reach out and we'll help.
When can I actually use it?
We're onboarding waitlist folks in small batches. Join the list and we'll email you when your slot opens.
